Valley of the Gods
This beautiful valley of spectacular formations in southeastern Utah is sometimes called "Monument Valley without the people". We certainly felt that as we spent nearly half a day enjoying the scenery in near perfect solitude. Monument Valley is more controlled, being on Navajo Tribal Lands, and is much more popular (hence, crowded). Ironically, it is less than an hour's drive from Valley of the Gods, so the same geological formations and processes must be present at both locations.
