Bosque del Apache NWR

Bosque del Apache is a beautiful location for bird photography in the late fall, and not just for the spectacular sandhill cranes and snow geese, although these are undoubtedly the stars of the show. We always see a number of duck species, as well as raptors including bald eagles. We are also usually treated to some coyotes, although they can be hard to get close to. In December 2011 after a record snow fall and low temperatures near zero, we were also treated to some fabulous icy landscapes!
