Winter Scenes

Although most of Yellowstone is inaccessible to regular vehicles during the winter, we were able to get to a number of very scenic areas by snow coach. These are large tracked vehicles that easily navigate the snow covered back roads. Our favorite places included the Lower Falls, Midway Geyser Basin, and the terraces at Mammoth Springs. The thermal features in the cold of winter are really spectacular!
